Our Options for Minor Orthodontics

Lady with Invisalign for minor orthodontic treatment

Minor orthodontics is the term that we apply to the treatments required to achieve minor tooth movement. These treatments typically use simple braces to gradually straighten and reposition a single tooth or several teeth. The movements required may only be a matter of millimetres and that’s why in these cases, we don’t have to use traditional fixed braces but can instead opt for more discreet treatments with removable aligners that require minimal changes to your lifestyle.

What we can achieve with minor orthodontic treatment

Though all patients are treated on a case by case basis, to assess and find the most suitable treatment to give the best results, in general, minor orthodontics can help to:

  • Correct minor and uneven spacing between teeth
  • Relieve minor crowding or overlapping of front teeth
  • Help realign rotated teeth and malpositioned teeth
  • Reposition teeth that have shifted following orthodontic treatment
  • Correct improper bite

The benefits of minor orthodontics

There are many benefits to having minor teeth straightening treatments, including:

  • Quickest and most affordable cosmetic treatment
  • Minimally invasive treatment, as appliances used for minor tooth movement are uncomplicated in design
  • Uses lighter forces, making treatment more comfortable
  • Improves the overall appearance and functionality of the smile and bite
